There are a couple of important pitfalls to learn, such as, once you import your illustrator file, you can’t ADD any layers to it because it makes After Effects go crazy. I brought it into After Effects and linked the body parts using the “pick whip” to make animating more easy, so if you move the upper arm, the forearm and hand move with it. So for that 2nd class, I did all my illustrating in Adobe Illustrator and each character had a separate body part on a separate layer. But our “Animation II” teacher has a more recent Mater’s degree in Animation and said that Adobe Animate is archaic ( it used to be Adobe Flash) and no one in the industry uses it any more. I took “Animation I” at the local college a year ago and the teacher taught us using Adobe Animate + Adobe After Effects.
